Our Story
Pacific Beach Builder was founded in 2009 by Mike Thompson, a third-generation contractor who fell in love with San Diego's coastal lifestyle during his Navy service at Naval Base San Diego. What started as a small remodeling business operating out of a garage on Garnet Avenue has grown into one of Pacific Beach's most trusted general contractors.
We understand the unique challenges of building near the coast – from salt air corrosion requiring specialized materials to navigating strict California Coastal Commission regulations. Our team combines traditional craftsmanship learned from generations of builders with modern techniques and materials specifically designed for San Diego's coastal environment.
Today, with our office on Cass Street and warehouse in nearby Clairemont, we're proud to call Pacific Beach home and honored to have helped over 500 families create their dream spaces while preserving the character that makes our beachside community special.
